Power Generators, Boost Converter Circuits, and Development Kit
High performance, turning waste heat into Electrical Energy!
Thermoelectric Generators (TEGs)
Capable of temperatures up to 300 Celsius
Module comes Pre-sealed and also with Graphite Foil thermal interface material (TIM) pre-applied to both sides. No need to apply any TIM.
These devices utilize the Seebeck effect (the opposite of the Peltier effect) to generate electrical energy. The only requirement is that each face of the device must be exposed to different temperatures; a "hot" side and a "cold" side. The greater the temperature difference, the more power generated. While all of our thermoelectric devices will generate power, the following devices are the most efficient and capable of operating at 300°C on the hot side.
See our Waste Heat Power Generation Development Kit below.
Typical heat sources such as; rocket mass heater, wood, pellet, and corn stoves, gas and fuel exhausts, propane, fuel oil heaters, and boilers. Also solar collectors and concentrators.
They can be wired together electrically in series or parallel to achieve the desired generator power output.

These circuits were developed by TXL Group, Inc. who develops industrial Waste Heat Harvest® solutions. These electronic devices convert the millivolts of power generated (by low delta T applications) into usable volts of power through efficient DC/DC conversion.
These converters can be wired to a single or multiple TEGs (and TECs). They are intended for creating useful power from low delta T power generation applications. Low delta T is defined as approximately 2 degrees to 30 degrees C.
Please see the TXL video demonstration of how the heat from your hand is enough to light the LED on ELC-W0422-2. The TEC is part # 19811-9L31-02CN1

Waste Heat Power Generation Development Kit
Complete kit including TE module, boost circuits, theory and experiments.
The TEG Development Kit provides the theoretical background needed for evaluating a candidate application. In addition to the large amount of science underpinning the technology, there is also a large amount of art. The TEG Developer’s Kit highlights the issues, potential, and “tricks-of-the-trade” needed for a successful implementation. The components in the kit allow the construction of prototypes for many device applications with easily reconfigurable modular components.
Contents Include:
Developed in cooperation with TXL Group, a leading manufacturer of thermoelectric solutions for capturing waste heat energy.
High efficiency TE module, 198 couple, 200°C max rated.
Two electronic converter circuits.*
Two heat sinks, one with low power fan attached.
Probes, test leads, and test loads.
Heat source, stand, foam insulation.
Detailed manual with;
Thermoelectric theory
Device contruction explanation
Schematics for the conversion
electronics needed to step up low
input voltages.
Experiments highlighting the issues
and trade-offs confronting the
developer.

* Converter circuits: Includes 2 circuits; The Bootstrap converter will accept input voltages of 60 to 600 milivolts and boosts it up depending on the magnitude of the input and output load. This can light an LED with just the heat from your hand. The up/down converter takes higher input voltages of 0.5 to 5.0 volts (generated from higher temp. heat sources) and converts it into a regulated 1.8, 3.3, or 5.0 volts. [this regulated output is jumper selectable. See page 14 of the manual.]
Note:
This kit requires the use of a multimeter and a digital thermometer. Please look at the following products if you need a Digital Multimeter and/or a Digital Thermometer.
EE-MS8264 is a Digital Multimeter and thermometer in one
EE-MS6501 is a simple low cost Digital Thermometer
